Our Overberg Range

‘Our debut range, named appropriately The Overberg Range after the birthplace of Tusk Studio, consists of three sets: the Heron, the Malkoha, and the Barbet. This range was designed to combine adaptability, functionality, and play.

The Overberg Range is Tusk Studio’s debut furniture range, launched at Decorex Cape Town 2025. Inspired by adaptable and multifunctional design and informed by the principles of modularity, Tusk Studio blends modern aesthetics and flat-pack systems to bring you something new.

This debut range includes three shelving-unit sets, made of modular pieces that slot into one another, allowing multiple variations to be made depending on your functional and storage needs. This modular system eliminates the need for extra fasteners and power tools. It’s adaptable, multifunctional nature means that each set can be more than one thing and can grow with you through each stage of life.

We invite you into the process of making and designing by providing the opportunity to configure your furniture your own way. Proudly made in South Africa using materials that champion sustainability. Each set is named after iconic birds of Southern Africa.

Tall like its namesake, the Heron Set is a bold statement in adaptable, sustainable living. Made up of 15 modular pieces that can transform into a striking display shelving unit, a bookshelf, or a playful children’s toy storage unit. The choice is yours.

This set is made up of 15x 15mm WISA-Birch Plywood pieces, that slot together to create multiple variations of a shelving or storage unit. Its modular design means that it works in both the vertical and horizontal positions with multiple variations for both orientations. Because of its adaptable nature, the Heron can be used in different stages of your life, from starting out as your beloved bookshelf to becoming a storage unit for your little one’s playroom. Each piece in this set has 2 – 6 notches which allow the boards to slot into one another, eliminating the need for extra tools or fasteners of any kind.
